Question 4

Who would be the audience for your media product?

The audience for our thriller would be teenagers as it is a physiological thriller but it doesn’t have any violence in and doesn’t have any drug use or alcohol we could put a rating of 15 on it as it would fit the category of a 15. we did not show any black people as we didn’t need to as it was not a racial films and we didn’t show old people as it was a thriller and old people don’t really fit into this genre. We did however show 2 young males and a typical young female victims as this is conventional, we wanted the thriller to be conventional and linked to our questionnaire most people thought a young female was a typical victim. Hannah was a typical teenage female who was a bit tarty, a perfect victim for a religious person to try and help. Our main audience would be teenagers and the questionnaires had been given to a range of people above 15 and they all had further education most of the questionnaires went to people our own age.
A typical audience profile

This is a typical teenager that would watch our film from the age range of 15-19 although older members could watch it. The typical person would be a bit geeky and like thriller films. There back ground would be a thriller person who like blood and gore.

BBFC rating

This would affect our audience as we have some horrific images in it like a deer head that has been cut off at the atlas joint, it would have to be a 15 as of the content, there isn’t any violence in it but there are a few gorey bits. This teenager above would be into video game like resident evil or something along that line.

The BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) was set up in 1912 and has classed cinema films since then and DVDs and Games since 1984. Although they class films the local council can overrule them on anything. The BBFC is a 'Not for Profit' organisation which only charges the company on its costs and has never received subsidies from the government or the film industry.
